Compound words

We have just been back Down South, visiting friends.

Friend's daughter aged 8 to The Terminator 'We're learning compound words at school, that's a word made up of two words'. 'Like what?' asked TT 'Waitrose' giggled friend's daughter. Friend's son aged 7 'I know one, popcorn! Do you know any?' to The Terminator 'Yes, arsehole.'

I've started saving up for a Swiss finishing school for him as an alternative to a Young Offender's Institute. A lot of polish is going to be needed for that rough diamond.

I know a great finishing school in Glasgow. He could learn excellent knife skills, the use of his head, (headbutting), and communication skills, (being lippy and getting a headbutt back for his troubles). Want the number?

Mae - cute wasn't the word that sprang to mind for me!

WM - thanks for coming to visit! You're a teacher so you must be right.

FITF - he thinks he's funny and he thinks that's the main thing

MOB - Thanks for the offer of the number but I'm afraid it's geographically a bit too close to North Yorkshire. I've heard there's a lovely place called Guantanamo that's got a few spare places now for special Brits.

Great choice of compound word! Saw your comment on Little Brown Dog's blog and had to come over. Been there, got the T-shirt with the House That Will Not Sell (ours took two and a half years)... In feng shui terms you need big solid pots either side of your front door with healthy bright red flowered plants in them. Plus burn clary sage oil when people visit (mind you, I'm a bit iffy about that one as it smells decidedly goaty to me) - I prefer geranium or grapefruit. HUGE good luck.
